Wings of Life is an organisation put together by an 'every day hero' - a young man called Doug Fields. Doug is only 19 years of age and is passionate about, not only aviation, but raising funds and awareness for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. He has already had a fly-in at his fathers property last year and raised approx $5500 for the RFDS! For those who know Doug, they will tell you that he is a great young man who is an inspiration - he is currently in the last year of his Aviation Degree.
Here at Recreational Pilots we are encouraging ALL PILOTS of Australia to have a look at what this young aviator is doing and offer your support.
There is a major upcoming event that Doug and his team needs pilots, enthusiasts, lovers of aviation and RFDS supporters to sponsor - it is a flight around Australia in memory of Barry Uscinksi. This epic journey will be leaving Archerfield on the 24th of June 2011 - you can even join up and get involved with this amazing event.
There is currently 2 replica spitfires, a Jabiru J230, a RV7, and a Robinson R44 helicopter booked. It is open to all aircraft GA-RAAus-Rotary; we would like more Recreational Pilots to join up for this great opportunity and experience the fun, adventure and our great land!!
Here at Recreational Pilots we are offering a 12 Month Subscription to the 'Australian Flying' Magazine to the top 3 supporters - so come on Pilots and Enthusiasts, please give generously in support of the RFDS and Wings of Life. To be in the running to win the subscription, when making your donation, please fill in the 'donor details' with your name and a valid email address. The top 3 supporters will receive a 12 month subscription. |
